This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

Its the best car Ive ever had!

  • My Grand Prix Corners Great - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

I have been very impressed with the cornering ability of my Grand Prix. Other great options include the rear passenger doors that open 90 degrees and the two-tiered glove box. I also really enjoy the speed control stereo volume - when you go faster, the radio volume increases to accomodate road noise and when you go slower, the radio volume decreases. Acceleration is also tremendous.

Very responsive, great power and comfortable is how I describe the 2004 Grand Prix-Comp GTP This is my second GTP and Pontiac has improved. The tap shifter takes a chapter from Ferrari and makes the car fun to drive. Engine is a tad noisy. Leather interior seems to be much better grade than in past.

Upgraded from a 2000 Grand Am GT and so far it has been a good decision. Went in looking for GT2 and decided it was worth the money for GTP - Car is fun to drive very quick with Super charged engine. Handeling is superb with the upgraded tires. Would recommend highly. The true test will be in two years if the car is still as much fun to drive as today.

  • Great car - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

I have owned now 4 Pontiac Grand Prixs (1973, 1974, 1983) and I have to admit, the 2004 model has the other 3 cars beat hands down. I like the performance and features of the car. The only disappointment was the fuel economy. I was expecting better mileage, but the car makes up for it in performance. I would recommend anyone to buy this car.

Really fun car. We got the base model with a power front seat as the only add on. The base model is not stripped at all to my surprise. Traction control, ABS, CD, Power windows, P locks and P mirrors. The re-design of the cruise control makes it very user friendly. Hopefully all of GM cars will adopt this style of the cruise control. This is a car that I will definitely keep a while. Love the new color also...fusion orange. The cars response to driving is the best. The Pontiac is so much better and funthan the 02 sebring. The headlights give excellent vision at night. Really like the way the doors open wider to a 90 degree also.

  • Love the GTP! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

Ok, I only have had the car for a month so I almost hesitate to submit a review this early, But I love the GTP! Its a huge improvement over the 03 VW Junk, I mean Jetta that I traded out of. The GP has excellent highway performance. It is a fun to drive and the heads up display is awesome! This feature has been around for a while, Im not sure why it didnt make it into more GM products. So far my only negatives with the GP is that is a missing a few items you would expect in a car with a $32k sticker, like climate control, heated mirrors, and Navigation, althought they did add it to 2005s. All in all a great car plus over $5,000 in rebates from GM!

A true luxo-cruiser. Amazing mileage for size (30mph on road). Quiet enough for a hands free phone. Power is very smooth and unobtrusive. Panel fit and paint quality still look new at 40K miles. Considering all the electrics on the car, never had a glitch. The car tracks very straight with no wandering. And it looks great with tremendous value vs. the competition. Im becoming a Pontiac man!(had another flawless 01 GP)

  • speed meets comfort - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

We popped the hood on the trunk, four of my buddies huddled over the engine. I put it in neutral and revved it (it limits the revs in park) What happened next was amazing. the whole engine torques and jerks. this engine is a monster. this cars accel is not too fast of the line, but from 30-70, it is amazing. when you are going 45 it feels like you are going 10. this car needs speed, and if you dont intend to do some highway traveling, you better find an outlet for this cars inner beast. this is like strapping a jet engine to a lazyboy, this cars amazing ride combined with unbelievable power makes it a great choice for any one looking at a mid size sedan

Wow, this car was a great improvement to the last model. This car blew me away when i first saw it. Although the cars interior is a little touchy. Ive had the car for less than a year and the paint from the steering wheel is already starting to rub off. Performance is great though overall, and i am pleased with the way it handels and overall comfort, except if your in the backseat and your over 13 years old.
